Charles T. Jones, MBA, PMP
Mr. Charles Jones ‘ career spans 14 years of IT and operational leadership. Mr. Jones began with Thundermist in the role of Chief Information Officer in March, 2008.
Prior to joining Thundermist, Mr. Jones held a number of technical and leadership roles in a variety of industries. For the past two years Mr. Jones has led sales and delivery teams for E5 Systems, a provider of Chinese offshore application development services for the travel, defense and association management industries.
Prior to his time at E5 Systems, Mr. Jones spent 7 years with Perot Systems Corporation in a variety of leadership and technical roles in the healthcare industry. Most recently he led a team of 30 offshore and local developers in support of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Rhode Island. Mr. Jones’ team led the development and maintenance of all BCBSRI’s distributed applications, including Blue Exchange/EDI, vendor interfaces and extracts, integrated voice response and groupware applications. Mr. Jones also spent 2 years as the Perot Systems site director for three North Shore Long Island Jewish Health System’s hospitals: North Shore University Hospital at Manhasset, Plainview and Syosset. In this role, he supervised all IT service delivery and projects related to these institutions and worked with executive staff to develop and prioritize annual IT budgets. During his time at NSUH Manhasset, it was named by AARP’s Modern Maturity magazine as America’s top hospital. Finally, Mr. Jones worked for Perot Systems at Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare as a developer and team lead implementing real-time EDI interfaces for Harvard Pilgrim with the New England Healthcare EDI Network.
Mr. Jones graduated from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD with a BS degree in Mathematics in 1994. Following his graduation he served 5 years as a Surface Warfare Officer with tours on the USS Tarawa (LHA-1) and USS Osprey (MHC-51). Mr. Jones also earned an MBA from Bentley College in Waltham, MA in 2008. He was awarded the Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute in 2005.
Mr. Jones is a member of the board of Electronic Health Records of Rhode Island and sits on the IT Steering Committee for the Rhode Island Quality Institute.
