Thundermist Foundation
In 2007 Thundermist provided $3.2 million in uncompensated care as state and federal dollars continue to dwindle. As a result, Thundermist continuously needs to raise funds and works to close the financial gap through the development of charitable resources which includes grant writing, fundraising events, corporate charitable support, and private giving.
The Thundermist Foundation was created to serve as the fundraising arm of the community health center.
Why is the creation of a Foundation an important development for Thundermist Health Center?
- A Foundation allows Thundermist centralize fundraising activities and provide board opportunities to qualified volunteers who may not wish to serve on the Board of Thundermist or may not be eligible to serve due to seat limitations.
- The Thundermist Foundation also increases public awareness of Thundermist, while raising funds to support the mission of the community health center.
- One of the major goals of this endeavor is to create an endowment to provide financial security for the future.
