Thundermist Health Center of South County to Host Free Cooking Classes

[February 29, 2016] Thundermist Health Center presents “Bites on a Budget”, a free six-week cooking class. Classes start on March 7, 2016 and run every Monday, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM through April 11, 2016.

A registered dietitian and chef will teach the series, which will be held in Thundermist of South County’s brand new test kitchen, located at 1 River Street, Wakefield. This program will teach patients how to cook nutritious meals for their family for less than $10.  “Good health begins in the kitchen at home.  Giving patients tools to create affordable, healthy, and delicious meals is just one of the ways we can help members of our community to live a healthier lifestyle,” said Chuck Jones, President and CEO at Thundermist Health Center.

These free cooking classes are sponsored by South County Health, Thundermist Health Center, and the South County Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds initiative. These organizations are dedicated to improving the health of all South County residents by providing easy access to healthy food.
