We recognize Thundermist serves as a safety net for our community and many patients have nowhere else to turn. We will accept new patients for people who are in at least one of the following categories:

In Woonsocket

• All children up to age 17
• People living with HIV
• People who are trans, nonbinary, and/or gender diverse
• Pregnant people
• People needing medication-assisted treatment for substance use disorder as part of comprehensive primary care
• Patients needing PrEP or PEP

In West Warwick

• Newborns
• Children up to age 17 who have a sibling already receiving primary care at Thundermist of West Warwick
• People living with HIV
• People who are trans, nonbinary, and/or gender diverse
• Pregnant people
• People needing medication-assisted treatment for substance use disorder as part of comprehensive primary care
• Patients needing PrEP or PEP
• Patients who communicate and require care is delivered in American Sign Language

Care for You

At Thundermist, we will meet your specific needs. Our care teams are trained in providing high-quality, culturally competent care. Our healthcare providers are specially trained to provide care to the LGBTQ+ community, people who identify as trans, nonbinary, or gender diverse, pregnant people, people with a substance use disorder, and people living with HIV. In addition, we offer a size-inclusive approach to healthcare. We also provide social services and have a WIC office at our Woonsocket health center.

We have onsite laboratory services and offer X-rays at our West Warwick health center.

Our team of pharmacists are available to assist with medication management and management of chronic conditions.

Behavioral Healthcare

Thundermist provides behavioral health services to established patients. If you are a new patient, please call us to establish care as a primary care patient. We also offer psychiatric services to Thundermist patients.

What to Expect for Your First Appointment

During your first appointment you will be asked to:

  • Provide a copy of your health insurance card, if you have one.
  • Provide a list of all medications and supplements that you are currently taking.
  • After becoming a patient, you’ll be able to use our patient portal to communicate with your care team.
  • Following your appointment, you may receive a survey that asks about the care your received at Thundermist. Surveys are sent by text message and/or email and provide the opportunity for the patient to provide feedback about their recent visit.

Health Insurance

No insurance? No problem. Thundermist will care for you even if you don’t have insurance. We also have social services to help you enroll in an insurance plan that’s right for you and your family. If you do have insurance, we accept most insurances and offer a sliding scale fee discount based on your income and family size.

New Patient Forms

If you have scheduled your first appointment with us, please download and fill out the following forms and bring them with you to your appointment.

Patient Portal

During your first appointment with us, we’ll ask if you would like to sign up for our patient portal.

In our patient portal you can:

  • View lab results and medical records
  • Message your care team and request new appointments or cancel/reschedule appointments.
  • View your billing statements and make payments

Referrals

If you are a Thundermist patient that needs a new referral, please contact your medical provider through the patient portal or call 401-767-4100 to leave a message for your provider.

We Care Line

Feedback is very important to us. It helps us know what we do well and where we can improve. The We Care Line is staffed by dedicated patient experience personnel to assist with complaints, suggestions, and compliments! You can contact us by phone or email.
