Substance Use Treatment Services
At Thundermist Health Center, primary care providers offer treatment for substance use disorder, also known as office based addiction treatment (OBAT).
How do you change or stop your substance use? Do you have a loved one who has a substance use disorder? Most people cannot stop using substances such as opioids on their own. They need help to return to balanced, healthy living. Your primary care provider can help with medication-assisted treatment.
OBAT includes:
- Medication
- Counseling
- Support from family and friends
Like heart disease or diabetes, substance use disorder can be managed. A person with substance misuse can regain a healthy, manageable life.
Treatment helps you give up the problem substance. It helps you get through withdrawal and cope with cravings. Treatment also helps you change compulsive, drug-related thinking into healthy patterns.
Treatment helps to address life issues that are tied to substance use. Treatment helps you connect to recovery resources. The ability to manage or control your substance use is known as recovery.
Thundermist Health Center’s comprehensive team of providers include primary care physicians, nurse practitioners, psychiatric nurse practitioners, nurse care managers, and clinical social workers.
