Thundermist Health Center Names New Medical Director
[July 15, 2015] – Christopher Ryan Klaus, MD, former Chief Resident at Brown Family Medicine has been named the new Medical Director at Thundermist Health Center in South County. He joined Thundermist in 2014 as a family medicine physician.
According to Chuck Jones, President of Thundermist Health Center, Dr. Klaus’ collaborative style of leadership will complement the team-based focus on patient care at Thundermist. “We’re so pleased to welcome a physician of Dr. Klaus’ stature as our new medical director and remain confident that his style of collaborative leadership will serve our patients and staff well in this time of rapid change in the health care environment,” said Jones.
Dr. Klaus joins Thundermist from Brown University/Memorial Hospital in Pawtucket, Rhode Island where he served as the chief resident in Family Medicine since 2013. His tenure at Brown University/Memorial Hospital began in 2011 when he served as a Resident Applicant Interviewer in Family Medicine and later as the Co-Resident Recruitment Chair in Family Medicine.
“Thundermist has given me a wonderful opportunity and I look forward to using our new building and exceptional staff to expand our service to all residents of South County,” said Dr. Klaus.
Dr. Klaus earned his post graduate training in Family Medicine at Brown University/Memorial Hospital. He received his medical degree from The University of Iowa and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Philosophy from Saint Olaf College in Minnesota.
