LGBTQ+ Vaccine Panel
When a vaccine is available to prevent or minimize illness, you get it, right? Well, it’s not necessarily that simple. For many LGBTQ+ folks, a history of mistreatment from and mistrust in the medical establishment means that some individuals are in no rush to get the COVID-19 vaccine, a flu shot, or inoculated against HPV or hepatitis A & B. For folks who are LGBTQ+ and from other communities who have also been mistreated by the medical establishment, concerns about vaccines may be compounded.
Join us for a discussion with healthcare professionals from across Rhode Island to talk about vaccines many LGBTQ+ folks should consider receiving, why many hesitate, and ways to get more information and reassurance about the safety of vaccines that may most benefit individuals and the community as a whole.
